Session hijacking via unescaped GAD-7 score fields
Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Stored XSS in OpenEMR before 8.0.0 allows remote authenticated users with clinician privileges to hijack sessions through a GAD-7 form. In interface/forms/gad7/view.php, seven database-backed score fields are inserted into JavaScript with text(), whose ENT_NOQUOTES HTML escaping does not neutralize JavaScript syntax. The GAD-7 form must be enabled and a victim must edit the compromised form, after which the payload can steal that victim's session and assume its privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
