Continued SFTP access via stale authorization
Published Jan 6, 2026 · Updated Jan 6, 2026
Authorization bypass in Pterodactyl Panel before 1.12.0 allows remote authenticated users to retain revoked SFTP file access. Wings checks permissions only during the initial SFTP authentication handshake, so an established connection retains stale authorization after Panel removes the user or reduces file permissions. Exploitation requires an SFTP session already open at revocation and remains limited to that server's files until disconnection.
