Arbitrary file read via unchecked middleware path
Published Jan 5, 2026 · Updated Jan 5, 2026
Path traversal in Frappe Framework before 14.99.6 and 15.0.0 through 15.88.0 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files. The file-serving loader in frappe/middlewares.py joins a request-controlled path beneath a site's public/files directory and opens it without resolving the path or verifying that it remains within that directory. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient only when a site exposes Werkzeug or Gunicorn directly; Frappe Cloud and reverse-proxied deployments are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
