Task crash via recursive MVG image reads
Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025
Uncontrolled recursion in ImageMagick before 7.1.2-12 allows local users to crash image-processing tasks with a crafted MVG file. DrawPrimitive in MagickCore/draw.c permits one MVG image primitive to read another MVG, allowing mutually referencing files to recurse until the process stack overflows. Any workflow that reads attacker-supplied MVG content is exposed, and successful triggering terminates the processing task without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
