Authenticated script execution via unsafe branch search rendering
Published Dec 26, 2025 · Updated Dec 26, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Gitea before 1.22.2 allows remote authenticated users to run script in another user's browser. RepoBranchTagSelector.vue inserts the tag-or-branch search term into two span elements with Vue's v-html directive instead of rendering it as text. Exploitation requires low-privileged access and user interaction; executed script can read or modify browser-accessible data in the victim's session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
