CVE-2025-6894Network attack vector

Internal network reconnaissance via unauthorized administrative ping

Published Oct 17, 2025 · Updated Oct 17, 2025

Execution with unnecessary privileges in Moxa router firmware allows remote authenticated users to invoke the administrative ping function. The device API omits the role authorization needed to restrict that function to higher-privileged accounts and accepts calls from low-privileged sessions. A low-privileged account is required; affected releases end at 3.13, 3.14, 3.16, or 3.17 by series, and resulting probes expose reachable internal hosts while repeated requests consume minor device resources.
