Privilege escalation via unguarded settings API
Published Oct 17, 2025 · Updated Oct 17, 2025
Improper authorization in Moxa network appliances and routers allows remote authenticated users to alter protected system settings. The /api/v1/setting/data endpoint accepts calls from low-privileged accounts without enforcing the permissions required to read or modify configuration data. A valid low-privileged session is required; exploitation escalates control over the affected device but does not compromise subsequent systems.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
