CVE-2025-6881Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated jhttpd crash via unchecked mschap_en formatting

Published Jun 30, 2025 · Updated Jun 30, 2025

Buffer overflow in D-Link DI-8100 16.07.21 allows remote authenticated users to crash jhttpd through a crafted HTTP request. The pppoe_base_asp handler passes the mschap_en query value to sprintf for concatenation into a local buffer without validating its length. Exploitation requires a valid web-management cookie; the demonstrated oversized value terminates jhttpd, interrupting management access.
