Kernel memory corruption via stale ownership pointers
Published Jan 13, 2026 · Updated Jan 13, 2026
Double-free in Linux Kernel 5.10 and later allows local users to corrupt kernel memory through the vidtv test-driver initialization path. vidtv_channel_si_init transfers program, service, and event objects to PAT, SDT, and EIT tables but leaves the corresponding local pointers non-NULL. Low-privileged local access and a PMT-section creation failure reach cleanup that destroys an already-freed event, causing a kernel crash or corrupted kernel state.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
