CVE-2025-68493Network attack vector

Data disclosure and SSRF via XWork XXE

Published Jan 11, 2026 · Updated Jan 11, 2026

XXE in the XWork component of Apache Struts 2.0.0 through 6.1.0 allows remote attackers to read data, cause SSRF, or interrupt service. The XML configuration parser accepts external entity declarations without properly restricting entity resolution, so referenced local or network resources are loaded. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled XML configuration to be parsed and user interaction; Apache does not disclose whether denial of service hangs or crashes the process.
