CVE-2025-68473

Memory corruption via unchecked Bluetooth service count

Published Dec 26, 2025 · Updated Dec 26, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in affected ESP-IDF releases allows physically proximate attackers to corrupt ESP32 memory during Bluetooth SDP discovery. In BlueDroid's bta_dm_sdp_result(), service UUIDs beyond the 32-entry limit are copied into uuid_list without checking num_uuids, writing past its fixed buffer. Reachability requires an ESP32-family device using BlueDroid for Bluetooth Classic to initiate SDP against a nearby peer advertising more than 32 services; resulting corruption produces undefined behavior and, rarely, a system crash.
