CVE-2025-68462

Local backup-data disclosure via world-readable directory

Published Dec 18, 2025 · Updated Dec 18, 2025

Information disclosure in Debian FreedomBox before 25.17.1 allows local users to read application backup data from the host. The backup workflow created /var/lib/plinth/backups-data with permissions that let non-root processes traverse the directory and read its contents. Local code execution on the FreedomBox is required; exposed files include private database dumps and the configured Dynamic DNS password.
