CVE-2025-68429Network attack vector

Secret disclosure via wholesale .env bundling

Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025

Information disclosure in Storybook allows remote attackers to read .env secrets from published static builds over the network. During storybook build, manager-code bundling substitutes every variable loaded from a project-root .env file when manager or addon code evaluates process.env as an object or references an unavailable property. Exposure requires an affected release, a secret-bearing .env file at build time, a triggering code pattern, and web publication; development servers and builds without .env files are unaffected.
