Authenticated live-query list disclosure via authorization bypass
Published Dec 18, 2025 · Updated Dec 18, 2025
Incorrect authorization in Elastic Kibana allows remote authenticated users to retrieve live-query lists via crafted HTTP requests. The live-queries list handler serves results without enforcing the live queries - read permission when it processes the crafted request. Any authenticated account can exercise the bypass, but the reported consequence is limited to reading the query list rather than query contents or modifying queries.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=7.0.0 <=7.17.29
- Affected versionversion=8.0.0 <=8.19.6
- Affected versionversion=9.0.0 <=9.1.6
- Affected versionversion=9.2.0 <9.2.0
