CVE-2025-68322

Kernel deadlock via unaligned unwinder access

Published Dec 16, 2025 · Updated Dec 16, 2025

A denial of service in the Linux parisc unwinder allows local users to deadlock affected kernels during stack tracing. The unwind_once path in arch/parisc/kernel/unwind.c dereferences a guessed previous-frame stack pointer without first verifying its alignment, so the resulting trap re-enters terminate_lock and causes spinlock recursion. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access on a parisc system and interrupts service by deadlocking the kernel.
