Service interruption via atomic-context mutex acquisition
Published Dec 16, 2025 · Updated Dec 16, 2025
Improper locking in the Linux kernel lan966x Ethernet driver allows remote attackers to cause a service interrupt through network-triggered statistics reads. The lan966x_stats_get path acquires a sleeping mutex while running in atomic context during network-device statistics collection. Reachability requires a Linux system using Microchip LAN966x Ethernet hardware; the published SSH-triggered trace records a kernel warning rather than a demonstrated crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
