CVE-2025-68311

Kernel oops via missing UART device pointer

Published Dec 16, 2025 · Updated Dec 16, 2025

Denial of service in the Linux ip22zilog serial driver allows attackers to cause a kernel oops via unspecified vectors during probing. The probe path registers UART ports without populating uart_port.dev, leaving the serial core without the device required for runtime power management. Exposure is limited to systems using the SGI IP22 Zilog8530 driver, and the published record does not identify an attacker action required to initiate probing.
