Kernel memory disclosure via uninitialized hugetlb folios

Information disclosure in the Linux kernel in Linux 6.11.0 through 6.12.60 and 6.13.0 through 6.17.10 allows local users to read kernel memory. The memfd hugetlb allocation path adds folios to the page cache without zeroing them or marking them uptodate because it bypasses hugetlb_no_page. A local user who can access a hugetlb-backed memfd can recover stale kernel contents through read() or mmap(), with udmabuf-backed DMA making direct access especially relevant.
