Authenticated file read via unchecked repository symlinks
Published Dec 18, 2025 · Updated Dec 18, 2025
Path traversal in Weblate before 5.15.1 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through repository symlinks. Component and translation filename accessors lacked centralized validation that resolved links remained outside excluded or external locations before download paths opened or archived them. Exploitation requires control of repository content and access to a download path; the reported consequence is file disclosure without file modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
