CVE-2025-68230

GPU page fault via stale partition state

Published Dec 16, 2025 · Updated Dec 16, 2025

An out-of-bounds access in Linux kernel amdgpu allows attackers to trigger a GPU page fault after PF-passthrough hibernation. Resume leaves the compute-partition registers unrestored, so the command processor uses the wrong stride when accessing the MQD buffer object. The flaw requires an AMD PF-passthrough environment, a hibernate-and-resume cycle, and a GPU workload; the bounded consequence is a GPU page fault.
