Kernel crash via NULL SCSI host dereference
Published Dec 16, 2025 · Updated Dec 16, 2025
NULL-pointer dereference in affected Linux kernel releases starting at 4.5 allows local users to crash the kernel through tcm_loop configfs. tcm_loop_tpg_address_show dereferences tl_hba->sh without checking whether tcm_loop_driver_probe failed to allocate the SCSI host. The fault requires failed host allocation followed by a read of the affected configfs attribute; the documented consequence is a kernel oops.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
