CVE-2025-68129Network attack vector

API authorization bypass via audience list expansion

Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025

Incorrect authorization in Auth0-PHP 8.0.0 through 8.17.0 allows remote authenticated users to access APIs with ID tokens. Token::validate unconditionally adds the configured client ID to the expected audience list for access tokens, allowing an ID token issued to that client to pass audience matching. Exploitation requires a valid ID token and an application that relies on the affected validation for API authorization; accepted tokens receive the API access available to that identity.
