Code execution via untrusted workspace activation
Published Dec 29, 2025 · Updated Dec 29, 2025
Code injection in Go for Visual Studio Code before 0.52.1 allows attackers to execute untrusted code through a malicious workspace. The extension remained enabled in Restricted Mode, allowing command-launching features to process an untrusted workspace instead of being disabled. The affected state requires the extension to run while VS Code marks the workspace untrusted; commands execute with the editor process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
