Process memory corruption via unchecked formatting return
Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025
Memory corruption in Capstone 6.0.0-Alpha5 and earlier allows local users to corrupt a host process through a custom formatting hook. SStream_concat adds the unvalidated cs_vsnprintf return to its index, so a negative or oversized value makes SStream_concat1 write before or beyond a stack buffer. Exploitation requires an embedding to let untrusted plugins or scripts install cs_opt_mem; ordinary disassembly input cannot reach the flaw.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
