Remote code execution via untrusted deserialization
Published Jul 7, 2025 · Updated Jul 7, 2025
Deserialization of untrusted data in ActiveReports.NET 18.1.1 allows remote attackers to execute code through TypeResolutionService. TypeResolutionService accepts user-supplied data without adequate validation and deserializes it, allowing attacker-controlled content to run in the current process. Exploitation requires an application workflow to pass attacker-controlled data to the library, and the reachable vector depends on that implementation.
