Authenticated code execution via unrestricted restore uploads

Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025

Unrestricted file upload in ChurchCRM before 6.5.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through Database Restore. Database Restore accepts user-controlled file content and extensions without validation, allowing a PHP shell and an .htaccess rule file to be stored for web access. Administrator access is required; requesting the stored shell executes operating-system commands with the web server user's privileges.
