Authenticated root command execution via API parameter concatenation
Published Mar 3, 2026 · Updated Mar 3, 2026
OS command injection in Cohesity TranZman 4.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands as root. The scheduler.py run endpoint only escapes double quotes before passing the job value to a script runner, while actions.py directly concatenates action and cep values into a shell command. Administrative access and a crafted POST request are required; shell separators or subshell syntax then bypass restricted CLISH confinement and grant complete appliance control.
