CVE-2025-67825

Signer spoofing via unverified PDF identity field

Published Jan 8, 2026 · Updated Jan 8, 2026

Origin validation error in Nitro PDF Pro for Windows before 14.42.0.34 allows attackers to spoof a PDF signer's displayed identity. The signature display logic reads signer information from an unverified PDF field instead of the verified certificate subject, allowing the claimed signer to diverge from the validated identity. A user must open and inspect a crafted signed PDF; the result is misleading signer attribution rather than certificate bypass, data access, or code execution.
