API key replacement via missing nonce validation
Published Jul 18, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in the Copymatic WordPress plugin 2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to change its stored API key. The copymatic-menu administration page accepts a state-changing request for the copymatic_apikey option without correctly validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to follow a crafted link or perform an equivalent attacker-induced action, after which the supplied key replaces the configured credential.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
