Terminal disruption via unsanitized remote-source output
Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025
ANSI sequence injection in Composer 2.0 through 2.2.25 and 2.3 through 2.9.2 allows remote attackers to manipulate terminal output. ConsoleIO writes messages and prompts without stripping control characters, while Auditor renders untrusted advisory and package fields directly into tables. Attackers must control a source that Composer downloads from; successful injection mangles display content and can interrupt the terminal application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 2.0, < 2.2.26
