Arbitrary file write via unsanitized upload filename
Published Jun 27, 2025 · Updated Jun 27, 2025
Path traversal in LightRAG 1.3.0 through 1.3.8 allows local users to write uploaded files outside the configured input directory. upload_to_input_dir joins the user-controlled file.filename value directly to doc_manager.input_dir without removing traversal sequences or verifying the resolved path. Low-privilege access is required, and successful exploitation places attacker-chosen files in unintended host filesystem locations.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
