Account lockout via skipped current-password validation
Published Dec 11, 2025 · Updated Dec 11, 2025
Unverified password change in Ibexa User Bundle 5.0.0-beta1 through 5.0.3 allows local attackers to reset a logged-in user's password. The UserPasswordChangeData oldPassword field retained UserPassword validation only as a legacy docblock annotation, so attribute validation enforced nonblank input without checking the current password. Access to an unattended authenticated back-office session is required, and changing the password locks the legitimate user out.
