Authenticated system hang via unsafe signal handler
Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026
Denial of service in the FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager API allows remote authenticated users to cause a system hang via crafted HTTP requests. An API signal handler invokes an undisclosed unsafe function while internal locks are aligned, crashing processes and leaving the system hung. Affected branches are 6.4, 7.0, and 7.2 all versions, 7.4.0 through 7.4.8, and 7.6.0 through 7.6.4; low-privileged network access is sufficient, but the lock state remains outside attacker control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=6.4.0 <=6.4.15
- Affected versionversion=7.0.0 <=7.0.16
- Affected versionversion=7.2.0 <=7.2.12
- Affected versionversion=7.4.0 <=7.4.8
- Affected versionversion=7.6.0 <=7.6.4
