CVE-2025-67601Network attack vector

Credential interception via unverified CA retrieval

Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026

Improper certificate validation in affected SUSE Rancher releases allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept CLI logins. During rancher login, the CLI accepts a CA fetched from Rancher's cacerts setting over the connection whose identity verification was disabled. Exploitation requires a self-signed CA setup, omission of --cacert, user-initiated login, and network-level interception; exposed basic authentication headers can be read.
