Stored XSS via unsanitized shortcode titles
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Catch Themes Essential Widgets 2.2.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode titles. Widget shortcode handlers store the title parameter without sufficient input sanitization and later render it without adequate output escaping. Contributor-level access is required to plant a payload, and a visitor must open the affected page; the script then executes in that visitor's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
