Account takeover via unvalidated logout redirect
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Dec 10, 2025
DOM-based XSS in ZITADEL Login V2 4.0.0-rc.1 through 4.7.0 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript through the logout endpoint. The /logout route passes an unvalidated post_logout_redirect query value to client-side navigation, allowing a JavaScript URL to execute in the ZITADEL origin. Exploitation requires user interaction and multiple active sessions in one browser; MFA or passwordless authentication limits the reported account-takeover consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
