Session theft via stored ub04 onclick injection
Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Stored XSS in OpenEMR 5.0.0.5 through 7.0.3.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in billing users' browsers. The ub04_helpers.php billing helper JSON-encodes database row data but inserts it inside a single-quoted inline onclick attribute without context-safe escaping. A low-privileged user with authorized set to 1 can store a payload in the account name; it runs when another user opens the helper, enabling session theft and actions as that user.
