Protected page disclosure via missing API permission check
Published Feb 3, 2026 · Updated Feb 3, 2026
Information disclosure in MediaWiki before 1.39.16, 1.43.6, 1.44.3, and 1.45.1 allows remote attackers to read protected pages. The ApiQueryRevisionsBase list handlers return revision content for titles without checking the requester's read permission. Exploitation requires Lockdown with a namespace configured as non-includable and read-restricted; page titles remain visible by design, while protected revision content is exposed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
