Administrator code execution via executable theme edits
Published Dec 22, 2025 · Updated Dec 22, 2025
Code injection in the theme editor in PluXml CMS 5.8.22 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute PHP. The back-office editor writes administrator-supplied PHP into a server-executed theme file such as home.php without rejecting executable content. Administrator-panel access is required; successful injection creates a webshell that runs code in the web server's security context.
