Process crash via unchecked stack allocation
Published Feb 12, 2026 · Updated Feb 12, 2026
Stack overflow in Monkeybread Software MBS DynaPDF Plugin 21.3.1.1 allows attackers to crash the host process via crafted barcode input. ZBarcode_Encode passes the caller-supplied length to an internal dispatcher that performs alloca(length + 1) without checking available stack space. Exploitation requires a large length value to reach the exported function; remote reachability exists only when a server-side application exposes barcode generation, and the resulting impact is process termination.
