Authenticated service interruption via unchecked except copy
Published Jun 26, 2025 · Updated Jun 27, 2025
Buffer overflow in HiPER 840G 3.1.1-190328 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service via a crafted API request. The formP2PLimitConfig handler passes the attacker-controlled except parameter to strcpy at offset 48 of an internal structure without a length check, overflowing the stack. Administrative digest credentials and network access to the management interface are required, and the published demonstration establishes denial of service rather than code execution.
