Authenticated course-data disclosure via HTTP method manipulation
Published Apr 24, 2026 · Updated Apr 24, 2026
Broken access control in ClassroomIO 0.1.13 allows remote authenticated users with student access to read unauthorized course data. Changing an authenticated request from POST to GET at /rest/v1/course causes the PostgREST backend to return expanded relational data without role filtering. A valid student token and course invitation are required; exposed data includes other students’ details, tutor and administrator profiles, group membership, and internal metadata.
