Arbitrary file read via language path traversal
Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025
Path traversal in RiteCMS 3.1.0 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to read host files through language settings. The settings flow accepts admin_language_file and default_page_language_file values that admin.php appends to the cms/lang path before Localization loads the resulting file, without rejecting traversal segments. An authenticated administrator can trigger the read directly; published research also demonstrates a CSRF chain that acts through an administrator's browser.
