Sensitive query disclosure via missing log redaction
Published Jul 7, 2025 · Updated Jul 7, 2025
Incomplete log redaction in affected MongoDB Server 6.0, 7.0, and 8.0 releases allows remote authenticated users to read query data. Error-handling paths for distinct, find, getMore, aggregate, query planning, and query-statistics logging pass command objects and plan details to log attributes without redaction. Exploitation requires high database privileges and specific errors; exposure is limited to query contents written to logs, without data modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=6.0 <6.0.21
