Unauthenticated administrator takeover via unprotected password update
Published Dec 26, 2025 · Updated Dec 26, 2025
Access control failure in Comtech CDM-625/CDM-625A firmware 2.5.1 allows remote attackers to take over administrator access via HTTP POST. The /Forms/admin_access_1 handler accepts a crafted password-change request without enforcing administrator authentication or authorization. Network reachability to the web interface is sufficient, and the replacement credential grants access to the modem's administrative account.
