Authenticated file overwrite via unchecked ZIP entry paths
Published Mar 3, 2026 · Updated Mar 3, 2026
Path traversal in Zdir Pro 4.1.1 through 4.6.2 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite files via a crafted ZIP archive. The zdir/controller.unzip function joins each untrusted ZIP entry name to the extraction path, then creates directories and files without verifying that the result remains inside the target directory. Exploitation requires access to upload and extract archives; escaped writes can overwrite application files and enable code execution.
