Stored XSS via unencoded customer phone number

Published Dec 17, 2025 · Updated Dec 17, 2025

Stored XSS in Open Source Point of Sale 3.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through a customer phone number. The Create/Update Customers flow stores the phone_number value in the database and later renders it into HTML without sufficient sanitization or context-aware output encoding. Administrator access is required to submit the crafted save request, and the stored script executes in another user's browser when the customer record is viewed.
