Authenticated user-status disclosure via unchecked target IDs
Published Dec 19, 2025 · Updated Dec 19, 2025
Broken access control in Turms IM Server 0.10.0-SNAPSHOT and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read other users' status data. The handleQueryUserOnlineStatusesRequest() method accepts caller-supplied user IDs and retrieves each target's session status without an authorization check. Any valid account can expose online state, device type, login timestamps, and session details for arbitrary users.
