Arbitrary file upload via spoofed image metadata
Published Dec 19, 2025 · Updated Dec 19, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Turms AI-Serving 0.10.0-SNAPSHOT and earlier allows remote attackers to submit non-image files to OCR. OcrController trusts the upload's client-supplied media type and filename instead of checking the file signature before passing the file to the OCR service. CISA assesses that authentication is unnecessary, but code execution or stored XSS requires downstream processing or serving of the uploaded file.
