Unauthenticated file read via uncanonicalized request paths
Published Dec 19, 2025 · Updated Dec 19, 2025
Path traversal in TkFiles in the Takes web framework through 2.0-SNAPSHOT allows remote attackers to read arbitrary host files over HTTP. TkFiles joins RqHref.Base(request).href().path() to its configured base directory, checks only whether the resulting File exists, and streams it without canonicalizing the path or rejecting ../ segments. Exploitation requires an application to expose TkFiles and permits unauthenticated disclosure of any file readable by the service account.
